Steve Dokken

(April 2, 1953 – Present)

Steve Dokken, bassist, was raised in Minneapolis but established himself as a leading bass player in the Indianapolis area after moving there in the late 1970s.  Along with local drummer Jack Gilfoy, Dokken played with the Henry Mancini band from 1979 to 1994 (the year of the leader’s death).

Since that time, he has worked locally with violinist Cathy Morris and is the bass player in Indianapolis-based band District Contact lead by Latin artist Pavel Polanco-Safadit.
